Experienced Leadership

BusAccel is led by Brian Dalziel, an entrepreneurial veteran who founded, capitalized and grew three start-up technology companies prior to joining BusAccel August 1, 2006 as its first Director. 

Dalziel's first company, Decisionmark, grew from one to 67 employees in five years with products targeting media companies. His second, Dovetail Learning Systems, was a publisher of CD-ROM and Internet-based workforce training titles.

In Dalziel's third company, Mitec Advanced Technologies, he used his patented electron beam linear accelerator to kill germs and extend the shelf life of fresh ground beef and other foods. Dalziel executed a joint marketing agreement with The Kroger Company and introduced extended shelf life fresh ground beef into two Kroger convenience store divisions, as well as into Walgreens.

BusAccel was formed by Northeast Iowa Community College in partnership with Clarke College, Dubuque Area Chamber of Commerce, City of Dubuque, East Central Intergovernmental Association, Greater Dubuque Development Corporation, Iowa Department of Economic Development, Iowa Workforce Development, Loras College, Small Business Development Center, University of Dubuque and leading northeast Iowa businesses.
